Eco Tan's a Clean, Green, Sustainability Machine. Here's why...

Climate change and environment awareness is one of the pillars in the Eco Tan foundations. With their full range across skincare, body and tanning certified organic and free from synthetic toxic “nasties”, the wellbeing of the planet and it’s people and wildlife is something that Sonya Driver and her team takes seriously.

Now more than ever, the planet needs our help and Eco Tan is leading the way with these 5 sustainable steps:

1) Responsibly Packaging All Eco Tan packaging will be either made with sugar cane (some already are) or with PCR (recycled materials). Our sugar cane tubes are made in a carbon neutral solar plant in Australia. They are also 100% recyclable and are biodegradable.

They also push their suppliers for the latest, new innovation for cleaner, greener, sustainable packaging options and are constantly reevaluating better solutions.

The boxes and packaging paper used for shipping, is all biodegradable and is made from recycled materials.

2) Carbon Offset Eco Tan is certified with GreenFleet, an Australian not-for-profit environmental organisation whose mission is to plant native biodiverse forests and help fight the impacts of climate change. By offsetting carbon emissions to GreenFleet, Eco Tan are taking practical climate action. Together, regrowing our forests and grow climate hope.

3) They’re Certified Organic → The full Eco by Sonya and Eco Tan range is made using certified organic and natural, native botanicals that not only work miracles on our face and body, they don’t compromise the health of the planet or wildlife, like conventional beauty ingredients do. An example is the Natural Rose Hip Sunscreen is Oxybenzone free, meaning it’s 100% reef safe.

4) Working to be Plastic-Free → All suppliers and in-bound parcels that come to Eco Tan are required to be free from plastic. They also have a company-wide initiative to become paperless and reduce as much paper printing as possible.

5) They Give Back → Some of the textiles and ingredients sourced by Eco Tan is found internationally. Their team, led by founder Sonya Driver considers how they can positively impact the communities they source from, ensuring they empower and lift up people in poverty stricken areas

"Sonya says “There’s nothing more empowering then supporting a local community. For instance, there’s a project were working on at present, where we are requiring natural linen textiles, so Sonya came up with the idea to create a business for the Indian community that lives in the slums in New Delhi, to create them an opportunity and a business.”
