San Elk is a small family business who specialise in producing premium handcrafted organic food products. Created in 2016 from a desire to share their family’s passion for food and cooking with others in their homes.
Based in West Footscray, Melbourne, the San Elk team dedicate their time to perfecting their recipes to ensure a deep smooth delicious flavour in their stocks.
Originally starting off with the deliciously nourishing Vegetable stock, the range has now grown to include two new varieties; an organic Beef and Low FODMAP vegetable version.
Each 160g Tub of San Elk stock makes approximately 13 litres of deeply flavourful stock.
The packaging is recyclable or reusable making this product sustainable from product through to end of life.

San Elk certified organic artisan beef bone stock is made with dehydrated beef bone and finely ground vegetables, herbs and spices to provide a rich and natural flavour when added to your meals. The stock is made from the highest quality raw ingredients available and that all of the essential nutrients are retained.
Boiled dehydrated beef bones are used in the stock which is milder in flavour and also lighter in colour in comparison to regular beef which is darker brown. No colours, preservatives or additives are added in San Elk stocks and the addition of tumeric and mushroom makes their beef bone stock stock lighter in colour.

San Elk certified organic artisan low fodmap vegetable stock has been tested and certified by the FodMap Friendly Program. The ingredients are carefully selected to comply with the low fodmap diet. San Elk wanted to create a vegetable stock made from certified organic ingredients, that’s full of flavour and gentle on the stomach.
DEFINITION OF FODMAP
FODMAP stands for Fermentable Oligo-, Di-, Mono-saccharides And Polyols. these are a group of short-chain carbohydrates (sugars) that are poorly absorbed by gut and can trigger symptoms in people suffering from gastrointestinal and irritable bowl syndrome (IBS). In consultation with a practitioner, a low fodmap diet can assist reduce IBS symptoms.
